StorMan formed in New Zealand in November 1992, providing sales, support, training and consulting in the niche market of self storage software products. In this first year it became apparent that the StorMan Software had the potential to take the market by storm.
Over 20 years later StorMan now boasts much of the available market within Australia & New Zealand. In February 2007 we opened our American office and are currently enjoying a steady growth in the USA.

Aaron - Chief Executive Officer
My story: I started out in a technical role for a large Telco as a project manager, then moved into the world of sales. I worked through mainly mobile communications and security-based roles and responsibilities before coming across the world of self storage. I was selling StorMan and PTi for a 3rd party before moving to my current role in the StorMan team in 2005.
Believe it or not: I make a great 'Shrek' - but only if I am raising funds for charity.
Hobbies: Motorsport & cars, travel, good food and anything my team(s) are playing in will generally make me sit up and pay attention.
Ben - Australian General Manager
My story: I joined StorMan Software in 2002 (as a Support Technician), after working in Self Storage for a number of years in both Adelaide and Brisbane. I am now StorMan's Australian General Manager.
Believe it or not: I have had the dubious honour of finding a live bazooka round in a self storage unit, as well as a drug laboratory (and no, not in the same unit - thank goodness)!
Hobbies: I'm interested in many things from computers, to four wheel driving, to the information super highway - but mostly spending as much time as possible with my kids.
Darran - Implementation & Support Analyst
My story: I started with StorMan July 2007 and come from IT Sales / Tech background.
Believe it or not: I have been asked to leave an "all you can eat" Pizza Hut... twice!
Hobbies: Sailing (when I have time), reading, playing computer games & basketball.
Andy - Customer Experience Architect
My story: I designed my first website at the age of 13 & have been with StorMan since 2006. Whether your question is about web design, colour codes, Google or HTML tags, there's a good chance I can answer it for you!
Believe it or not: When I was eight years old, I was preparing to watch the annual Brisbane River Duck Race (a cancer-cure fund-raiser) with my family when I was randomly selected from the crowd by an organiser & asked if I could fill in for the duck mascot, as he had become ill. Ten minutes later, I was dressed in their duck-suit & in a speed boat waving at the crowds for the entire race!
Hobbies: Bushwalking, bodybuilding & anything design-related.
Scott - Support Team Leader
My story: I started at StorMan in January 2011 as the Support Team Leader, coming into the position with a background in the Travel and Travel Software industries. Some of my previous employers include American Express, Flight Centre (Corporate) and SERKO software Ltd, where I have worked in managerial positions for the last 10 plus years.
Believe it or not: On a Friday afternoon dare I once ate 6 Big Macs over the course of a lunch time. Never to be repeated!
Hobbies: Sports, martial arts, music, movies, travel & new technologies.
Rachel - Accounts & Admin
My story: I have been in the Storage Industry for about six years now. Five of those working and then managing a facility here in Auckland, New Zealand. Before working in the Storage Industry, I was in Hospitality, managing bars and restaurants both here and in New York, where I lived on and off for four years.
Believe it or not: I was in the New Zealand training squad for Rhythmic Gymnastics and rated 17th best in New Zealand (years & years ago).
Hobbies: I love going out to dinner with my husband, movies, playing with my kids (and time away from my kids).
Chris - UK Sales & Support
My story: I studied Computer Engineering at Portsmouth University, After moving back home, I started working for a friends businesses - which eventually led to myself overseeing the conversion of a former factory into a self storage facility.
Believe it or not: I was the first StorMan customer in the UK (before I started working for the company).
Hobbies: Getting greasy underneath cars, running, hobby electronics, snooker & and real ale!
Tom - USA Marina Sales & Support
My story: I graduated from Florida State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems. I worked in the IT industry for 26 years and have been a boating enthusiast for the same amount of time. I joined StorMan Software 18 months ago to offer marinas in the United States a superior software solution for their management needs.

Bob - USA Storage Sales & Support
My story: I have a dual role as both Storman Support & Sales as well as being a StorMan customer for 10+ years. I have been involved in the Support & Sales aspect for almost 2 years now. Much of my StorMan knowledge has been self-taught.
Believe it or not: As a lad of 9 years of age, I drove my brother's 68 Plymouth Barracuda into a lake in New Jersey. The family joke was the fish wanted to get back in the water.
Hobbies: I bowl on Wednesday nights & have been bowling almost from the time I could walk! I also collect old clocks & radios.
Nick - Senior Support Analyst
My story: I joined StorMan in 2006 as a Junior Support Analyst and my roles here have run the gamut of Support, QA and Development. I have now settled in to the Senior Support Analyst role and am part of the well-oiled customer service machine based in Auckland, New Zealand.
Believe it or not: I was born with a hole in my heart and was lucky to get to the age of 1.
Hobbies: Gym, video games, watching British comedy, watching motorsport & cooking.
Jeremy - Junior Application Developer
My story: I was born in Australia and moved to New Zealand when I was nine, attending schools in Auckland. I started work at StorMan in February 2013, having completed a degree in Information Systems, as an application developer. I have been interested in software development since I was a child so I believe I've taken the right path.
Believe it or not: My ancestry consists of English, Scottish, Dutch, Welsh, Danish and French. I am also a citizen of three countries: Australia, New Zealand and the United States.
Hobbies: Gym, bushwalking, reading, singing & computer games.
Wei - Junior Application Developer
My story: I'm a graduate with a Diploma in Computer Science from the University of Auckland. I have genuine interests in Java technologies, web development and open source technologies.
Believe it or not: One day, when I was about seven years old, I was on my way to school and found a small dog attacking a crab. I tried to save the crab from the dog (well, I was actually trying to get the crab for myself so I could show it to my classmates) and successfully drove the dog away. However, I didn't get the crab in the end, because during my battle with the dog, I accidentally stepped on the crab and killed the poor creature! Sometimes good intentions lead to bad outcomes.
Hobbies: Soccer & history books.
Elliot - Support Analyst, Upgrades & IT Sys Admin
My story: I graduated from Techtorium (Auckland, New Zealand) with a Diploma in PC Support in 2012. I enjoy engineering and understanding how things work. I joined StorMan in April 2013 with the sole purpose to upgrade sites to v9 of StorMan, short time after I was promoted to Technical Support. On my fifth month of working for StorMan, I was promoted to IT System Administrator to relieve pressure off the CTO.
Believe it or not: I’m 19 and I use to have a mullet.
Hobbies: Drifting, drag racing, metal fabrication and IT.
Cong - Quality Assurance
My story: I graduated with a Bachelor degree of Computer and Information Science from AUT University. After this I went on to gain an ISTQB certificate to further improve my knowledge and skills in the software testing field and have been working in StorMan since 2012. Through my software testing experience I developed a passion for QA and I believe this is where I am best suited.
Believe it or not: I used to study Beijing Opera at the age of 6. Also was the member of chorus in middle school and the basketball team manager in my previous university.
Hobbies: Reading comics and novels, karaoking, planting, playing badminton and basketball.
Robert - Chief Technical Officer
My story: I've been at StorMan since 2004, I started off in the Support department before making my way over to Development.
Believe it or not: I got into IT by accident; I was doing a degree in engineering but got a part time job in IT and never left.
Hobbies: Computer gaming, reading and scuba diving.
Johnno - Support Analyst
My story: I love computer games, hanging out with my German Shepherd & Rottweiler and drinking energy drinks. When I’m not gaming or at the gym, I’m out in the bush hunting down the enemy with my paintball gun! I'm part of StorMan's New Zealand based Technical Support team.
Believe it or not: I started learning software programming in Primary School.
Hobbies: I enjoy keeping fit, military paintball, computer games and a bit of boy racing now and then.
Denis - Senior Development Team Member
My story: I graduated AUT in 2009 and, in 2010, joined StorMan as Intern. Since then, my main goals have been the development & improvement of StorMan's range of management software. If I don't know how something in StorMan operates, I can generally find the answer quickly.
Hobbies: Boxing & playing computer games.
Neil - Support Analyst
My story: I am originally from Brazil and I started at StorMan in September 2012 as a support technician after working in retail industry for 5 years as a Manager. I completed a Level 7 diploma in Management and IT infrastructure in 2010 (including SDLC, ITIL and IT Governance). I started with IT back in 1996 as a Software Developer and I am also Certified in ORACLE 9i. I also had an IT Consulting Company for five years, which improved my understanding in customer service, administration, marketing and sales. I enjoy technology, games and the internet. I also like soccer and playing the guitar.
Believe it or not: My high school basketball team won the intercollege challenge twice when I was 16 / 17. I am 1.95m tall and I was very good on the 3 point shootouts!
Hobbies: Soccer (of course!), games, fishing & playing the guitar.
