Title: 2007 SSAA Tradeshow Planning
Date: 23rd October, 2007
'Morning all. As you may
already know, the Self Storage Association of Australasia kicked off
their annual Tradeshow & Convention yesterday. Unfortunately I was
unable to attend the show this year (I had my turn at the 2006 Gold
Coast show), but Ben, Aaron and Wayne have made the trip over to
Hamilton Island for the 3-day show.
The news that's filtered back so far, is that the show has started well,
with more attendees than anticipated. But I speak from experience when I
say that behind every event is a huge amount of backstage work, with a
lot of energy & time spent preparing things in the weeks (sometimes even
months) leading up to the event.
Several weeks ago, I had a chance to chat to island Event Technician,
Phil (from AV Partners), who recently won the island's events contract
(I believe it was previously awarded to Staging Connections). He was
kind enough to send me a photo of the tradeshow hall (in particular, the
corner where the StorMan booth was to be).
With this photo, I was able to plan the look & feel of our tradeshow
booth, taking into account height restrictions and so forth. In the
weeks leading up to the tradeshow, I was able to organise chocolates, a
booth design (including stands, pull-up posters etc), PowerPoint
presentations, demo CDs, Sales packs and so forth. It's been fairly busy
here in the office over the last few weeks - with lots of new sales and
so forth - but all of our tradeshow material was finished in time &
everything's been running well so far. It should be a good show!
I've posted some photos below.
Regards,
Andy.
