Title: Planning events
Date: 17th March 2008
I was recently given the task of planning an event. The event in question is the Open Night we're having here at StorMan Brisbane next week. While the core focus of the event will be the Insomniac Self Storage Kiosks (we currently have one here in the office to play with - lots of fun!), it'll also be a chance for staff to meet clients, and vise-versa.
Later today, we'll be shooting a bit of an in-house movie to showcase some of the kiosk benefits and how you can see them linking into StorMan - so that's one part of the night. Then there's food & drinks to organise, handouts & show-bags, PowerPoint presentations to make, and plenty more. We'll also be filming some of the event on the night for a video blog (in case you can't make it up on the night).
The most time-conscious bit would have to be creating & sending the invites (both physical ones in the post, and PDF files via email), which was a mammoth task that I completed early last week. The good news in all of this is that we've had an excellent response to the Open Night so far, and we'll definitely be doing more in future - so stay tuned to the Events page, or simply subscribe to our Training & Events RSS feed.
