Internet backups continue to remain one of the cheapest forms of backup available to your storage site. There were at least two occasions over the Xmas / New Year break where the availability of an internet backup became crucial to a sites ongoing viability.
One site had the misfortune to be on the receiving end of flood waters in their office which completely wrecked their computer. The second site was the victim of relief staff downloading music (via a peer to peer networking program) but instead downloaded a virus which destroyed the computer’s entire hard drive.
Both these sites were secure in the knowledge that even through the worst disaster, they could rely on a StorMan internet backup to make sure their business was up and running again in no time at all. How it works...
StorMan will reach out to our secure dedicated backup
servers once a week (at your predetermined time and day) - i.e. Friday
at 7.30pm, and upload a copy of your current datafile to the encrypted
backup folder for your company.
Simple...? Yes - and because it happens automatically, provided the machine at site is left on, you can be assured that if you ever face the worst that life can throw at you then you are covered... at least from a StorMan perspective.
